France Football has clarified that the BOAT vote, the All-Time Ballon d'Or, is an online popular consultation and its result does not lead to an official award. No new trophy or recognition is planned on the gala stage, and the honours list and records remain unchanged. For now, Ronaldo leads the preferences with the 2007/08 season at Manchester United, the year of his first Ballon d'Or. Ronaldo is not among the candidates for the 2026 edition.
