Manchester United's Carrick apologises to fans after Como defeat
Como Manchester United
Manchester United lost 4-1 at Como in matchday three of the Champions League, and head coach Michael Carrick appeared before the away fans to apologise. Carrick said: “I take 100 per cent responsibility for the team’s performance”, calling the display unacceptable and saying he did not know what would happen with his future. Captain Bruno Fernandes criticised the decision not to press Como high under Cesc Fabregas, saying: “Sometimes you have to be braver under pressure.” Carrick replied: “If you don’t run, forwards and backwards, you don’t win.”
